This Evil Genius of Scepticism

This man was a scep to beat all sceps! He's the father of scientific scepdom.

So here's a good definition if what a scep is from his example:

René Descartes had imaginary conversations with an “Evil Demon” or “Evil Genius”, a personification who is “as clever and deceitful as he is powerful, who has directed his entire effort to misleading me.”

Evil Demon is used as a method of systematic doubt, where we must doubt even our senses, which could be deceived. The goal is to use doubt as a way of obtaining knowledge about the things one cannot doubt.

This is the scep diseased mind. An evil genius rides them hard, making them doubt even their doubts.:)
